Office of Cemetery Oversight Obtains Temporary Court Order to Allow Burials to Continue at Southern Memorial Gardens

 

BALTIMORE, MD (January 5, 2012) – The Office of Cemetery Oversight (OCO), a a regulatory office administered by the Maryland Department of Labor Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing, has sought and obtained an Interim Order from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland to allow independent contractors to continue performing burials in Southern Memorial Gardens (SMG) for pre-need contracts entered into prior to August 12, 2011.

A hearing to make the Interim Order permanent will be held on Friday, January 13 at 10:30am. The hearing will be held at:
