Worker’s Rights - Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH)
Every employee is entitled to a safe workplace, and employers are required to maintain the workplace free from known health and safety hazards, as stipulated under § 5-604.
If there are any safety or health concerns at work, it’s important to inform the employer. It is the worker's right to do so.
Workers have the right to report injuries, safety issues, and actions taken against them for speaking up including being fired, demoted, or disciplined. Workers have the right to file complaints if appropriate. Remember, employers are required to follow safety laws and keep workers safe. Employers must also maintain a workplace free from retaliation for voicing concerns about hazards or violations of federal law.
