Apply for an Architect Emeritus License - Architects
You may qualify for an emeritus status license if you:
- Are currently licensed in Maryland; and
- Have been a licensed architect for at least 25 years—five years of which were in Maryland; and
- Are not the subject of a pending disciplinary action related to the practice of architecture in this or another state.
The fee for an emeritus status license is $56. If granted, this license does not have to be renewed. Architects Emeriti are exempt from State CPC requirements, but if they choose to reinstate their licenses in the future, the Board has the discretion to require completion of missed CPC requirements up to a total of 24 LUs.
*Please note that the holder of the architect emeritus license may NOT engage in the practice of architecture but may use the designation of “Architect Emeritus”.
