Requirements — Candidates must:
- Provide transcripts that show that the individual has completed a four-year curriculum in forestry from a college or university that is approved by the Board or accredited by the Society for American Foresters.
- Demonstrate competence in the practice of forestry by showing at least two years of experience in forestry after graduation.
- Provide at least five references. Please select references who are licensed foresters in Maryland, or for an individual who is not a Maryland licensed forester, forester credentials acceptable to the Board, including a detailed description of their professional experience in forestry.
Application process
Complete the Review of Qualifications and Support form online. Contact the registrar’s office of the college or university where you obtained your degree to send an official transcript directly to the Board.
The Board will review your completed application and will notify you by email that you have been approved and instruct you on where to submit your payment for licensure.
License Period: Two-year period from the date of issuance.
