#24-062 In the seventh race at Pimlico Racecourse on May 27, 2024, horse #9 “Lucci”, ridden by Jockey Andy Hernandez was disqualified from third position and placed eighth. Going into the far turn #9 “Lucci”, takes back and drops in, without sufficient clearance, into the path of #7 “Tenax” ridden by Jockey Jean Alvelo. This action forces #7 to take up sharply on the heels of #9 then lost his action and slipped, unseating his rider.

COMAR 09.10.01.50 A (1)(c)(e) which states in pertinent parts: “A horse may not (b) Cross or weave in front of another horse without sufficient clearance (e) Impede another horse]

During the running of the third race on June 2, 2024, jockey Perez hit his mount “Glamorous” 9 times which are in violation of the 6-strike rule. On June 7, 2024, a hearing was held to review the race. The Stewards issued the following penalty.

• Mr. Perez is fined Two hundred and fifty ($250.00) dollars.
• Mr. Perez is suspended one (1) racing day, June 14, 2024.
