April 2024 Standardbred Rulings - Maryland Racing Commission

April 04, 2024 - Rosecroft Raceway
 RCR 24-017 Driver Adrian Wisher Jr. is fined $150.00 for interference in the stretch with RED DAWN while driving ROSE RUN TONI in the 2nd race on April 2nd, 2024 at Rosecroft Raceway. ROSE RUN TONI finished 1st and was placed 4th. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received.

April 18, 2024 - Rosecroft Raceway
 RCR 24-018 Trainer Thomas Lord, for being the trainer of record on sample #E720249 taken from FRANZO on March 14th, 2024 at Rosecroft Raceway, was found to contain ADB-Fubinaca. As a result, Lord is fined $2,500.00 and must return all purse monies. Lord will also be issued a full suspension from April 15th, 2024 through April 9th, 2025 (360 days). During this suspension, he and all horses trained and/or owned by him are barred from the grounds, under the jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission. Additionally, FRANZO is disqualified, finishing first and placed ninth, and is placed on the steward`s list from April 15th, 2024 through April 9th, 2025 (360 days). Once Lord’s suspension is completed, he must reapply and receive approval from the Maryland Racing Commission to obtain licensure. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling.

 RCR 234-019 Trainer Jason Bowers, for being the trainer of record on sample #E720239 taken from JOHNNY Q on March 14th, 2024 at Rosecroft Raceway, was found to contain ADB-Fubinaca. As a result, Bowers is fined $2,500.00 and must return all purse monies. Bowers will also be issued a full suspension from April 15th, 2024 through April 9th, 2025 (360 days). During this suspension, he and all horses trained and/or owned by him are barred from the grounds, under the jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission. Additionally, JOHNNY Q is disqualified, finishing first and placed ninth, and is placed on the steward`s list from April 15th, 2024 through April 9th, 2025 (360 days). Once Bowers` suspension is completed, he must reapply and receive approval from the Maryland Racing Commission to obtain licensure. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling.

As a result, Wagner is fined $2,500.00 and must return all purse monies. Wagner will also be issued a full suspension from April 18th, 2024 through April 12th, 2025 (360 days). During this suspension, he and all horses trained and/or owned by him are barred from the grounds, under the jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission. Additionally, SWAN HARBOR is disqualified, finishing first and placed ninth, and is placed on the steward`s list from April 18th, 2024 through April 12th, 2025 (360 days). Once Wagner’s suspension is completed, he must reapply and receive approval from the Maryland Racing Commission to obtain licensure. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling.

Additionally, AJ MORELLI is disqualified, finishing first and placed ninth, and is placed on the steward`s list from April 18th, 2024 through April 12th, 2025 (360 days). Once Oglesby’s suspension is completed, he must reapply and receive approval from the Maryland Racing Commission to obtain licensure. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling.

As a result, Sharpe is fined $2,500.00 and must return all purse monies. Sharpe will also be issued a full suspension from April 25th, 2024 through April 19th, 2025 (360 days). During this suspension, she and all horses trained and/or owned by her are barred from the grounds, under the jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission. Additionally, BACKWATER BELLE is disqualified, finishing first and placed ninth, and is placed on the steward`s list from April 25th, 2024 through April 19th, 2025 (360 days). Once Sharpe’s suspension is completed, she must reapply and receive approval from the Maryland Racing Commission to obtain licensure. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling.
