September 2026 Standardbred Rulings - Maryland Racing Commission

RCR 26-029 September 17, 2026

Driver Cole Olsen is hereby assessed a fine of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for failing to keep both feet in the stirrups in the stretch while driving KAMARA in the fifth race on September 14, 2026, at Rosecroft Raceway, in violation of COMAR 09.10.02.33H(6). The fine assessed must be paid within ten (10) days of the issuance of this ruling. Failure to submit payment within this period shall result in the full suspension of the Maryland Racing Commission licensee and will remain in effect until full payment is received.

RCR 26-030 September 21, 2026

Maryland Racing Commission licensee Darrick Guertin is hereby indefinitely suspended for failure to return purse monies totaling $2,024.38 to Rosecroft Raceway in connection with rulings RCR26-008 (Positive Test—Post-Race) and RCR26-009 (Positive Test—Post-Race). During this suspension, both Mr. Guertin and all horses owned and/or trained by him are prohibited from entering any grounds under the jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission. Mr. Guertin’s Maryland Racing Commission license will be restored to good standing upon receipt of the outstanding purse monies.

RCR 26-031 September 24, 2026

Trainer Thomas Lord, having been found in violation of COMAR 09.10.02.41C, is hereby assessed a fine of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for making one late driver change on the September 17, 2026 racing program at Rosecroft Raceway. The fine assessed must be paid within ten (10) days of the issuance of this ruling. Failure to submit payment within this period shall result in the full suspension of the Maryland Racing Commission licensee and will remain in effect until full payment is received.
