Notice to Independent Contractors and Exempt Persons - Worker Classification Protection

A person or business in the construction and landscaping industry that contracts with an individual as an independent contractor or exempt person must provide the individual with a "Notice to Independent Contractors and Exempt Persons" provided by the Commissioner of Labor and Industry.  In addition, a similar notice must be posted in a conspicuous place at every jobsite and at the place of business of the person or business for which the individual performs services.  Both notices must be provided in both English and Spanish.

Notice to be signed by both parties and retained by the person or business for which the individual performs services:

• Notice to Independent Contractors and Exempt Persons (for signatures of worker and work provider)
• Aviso a Contratistas Independientes y Personas Exentas (para la firma del proveedor de los trabajadores y el trabajo)

Notice to be posted on all jobsites and at the place of business of the person or business for which the individual performs services:

• Aviso a Contratistas Independientes y Personas Exentas
