ALERT! Online Maryland Unemployment Insurance claims may only be filed on mdunemployment.com on the Maryland Department of Labor website
Why are we telling you this?
Because there's something phishy going on.
The Maryland Department of Labor has discovered a fake unemployment insurance benefits website that's actually a phishing scam.
Its sole purpose is to steal information and $$$ from Marylanders applying online for unemployment insurance benefits.
The fraudster website is unemployment-assist.com.
NEVER CLICK ON IT.
If you have already clicked on to the site, you may begin
receiving emails from an address such as:
info@unemployment-assist.com.
DO NOT OPEN THE EMAIL.
It is a phishing scam. Do not bite.
The good news is that this scam does not affect a claim you've already filed on mdunemployment.com -- or any future claims.
To check on a filed claim please call 410-949-0022 or if you're in Maryland but the above number is long distance, please call 1-877-293-4125.
