Accelerating Cyber Careers - Workforce Development & Adult Learning
The Department, in partnership with the Governor’s Workforce Development Board (GWDB) and the Department of Information Technology (DOIT), is partnering to issue grant funding to support the development of cyber ranges that will provide in-demand cybersecurity training. Cyber ranges are interactive, simulated platforms that have been identified as a critical tool for providing hands-on experiential learning in a secure environment meant to bolster the availability of highly skilled workers to meet the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals across the State.
The Accelerating Cyber Careers program will ensure cybersecurity employers have the highly-skilled workforce they need by offering hands-on training opportunities while simultaneously expanding access to populations that have been historically underrepresented in the industry.
The program is the first to be launched through the Talent Innovation Fund, which was enacted by the Maryland General Assembly in 2024.
In November 2025, the Maryland Association of Community Colleges, in partnership with Baltimore Cyber, was awarded funding through the Accelerating Cyber Careers program. For more information on the training offered, please visit their webpage.
