Jabnia Bonilla Baires – Former Student of Adult Education/ESL Program at Frederick Community College - Success Story - Workforce Development and Adult Learning
Jabnia, a native from El Salvador, started in our Adult Education/English as a Second Language (ESL) program in 2017 as a Low Intermediate student at our Monroe Center. Over the years, she progressed successfully until completion of the program in 2019. She continued her studies enrolling in Targeted ESL coursework and then last spring in our Bridge to Careers: Healthcare program. She enrolled in case management with our WIOA partners at Frederick County Workforce Services and is now employed full-time with benefits at Frameworks, an organization working with individuals on the autism spectrum. After completing the bridge program, she has decided to pursue the Respiratory Care degree program at Frederick Community College (FCC) and is currently taking ESOL 100 to follow that path next semester. FCC is proud of the progress Jabnia has displayed and we honor her this month.
