Meet Kaliopy...
Kaly carried her previous work experience to a new country and earned certifications that led to full-time employment here in the U.S.

Kaliopy – or “Kaly,” as she is known by friends, is an English Language Learner who moved to the U.S. with background experience in the logistics and production field. When she came to the Frederick County Workforce System (FCWS) seeking help to find a job, she was unemployed and not sure what her next steps might be.

Kaly worked with FCWS on her resume, interview skills, and job search skills. She also enrolled in a Logistics and Production Bootcamp offered by Frederick Community College that seemed perfect as a bridge to a career here in the states leveraging her previous experience.

Kaly obtained a Logistics Associate Certification through the Bootcamp and was subsequently hired by Phoenix Mecano in a Transitional Work Experience position. She was then hired to work full-time with Phoenix Mecano as a Quality Engineer.
